Ropo and Siirto launch cooperation: e‑invoices delivered directly to mobile banking apps

Article 22.01.2026

Ropo’s invoicing offering is enhanced with Siirto’s new e‑invoice address lookup service. The solution makes invoicing easier and paying invoices effortless for consumer customers – directly within their own bank.

Siirto is known for its real-time Siirto payments and online payments. Before the summer, Siirto is expanding its service. In addition to payments, consumers will be able to receive e‑invoices even more smoothly within their own banking channels. Siirto simplifies the delivery of familiar Finvoice invoices to consumers’ banking applications.

What is Siirto?
Siirto is a Finnish real-time payment method that operates within bank channels and has been in use since 2017. With Siirto, users can easily and securely transfer money between individuals and pay for purchases in online stores.

Siirto is now expanding to also enable the receipt of both recurring and one‑off e‑invoices directly in consumers’ own banking applications. This makes invoice management faster and more effortless – and provides significant benefits for invoice issuers.

“Adopting Siirto is a convenient way to increase the level of electronic invoicing in consumer billing. As more invoices are delivered digitally, processes become more efficient, costs decrease and cash flow accelerates – while at the same time supporting sustainable development”

Henry Pärssinen, Director of Customer Relationships at Ropo

How Siirto works
Siirto aggregates e‑invoice addresses into a single registry. When an invoice recipient’s e‑invoice address is requested, Siirto reliably provides it to Ropo. Invoices continue to be delivered as Finvoice invoices directly to users’ banks – now even more easily than before.

Siirto compares multiple customer details known by the invoice issuer, such as phone number, home address or personal identity code, with data held by the bank. If Siirto cannot identify the consumer with sufficient certainty, the invoice is not delivered and an alternative delivery method is used.

Consumers receive invoices in their online bank and pay them as usual. They save time, as e‑invoices no longer need to be ordered separately as is currently the case. Invoice issuers do not need to request a separate consent to invoice customers via Siirto – Siirto automatically handles the transmission of the e‑invoice address.

Siirto both simplifies everyday life for Finns who already receive e‑invoices in their banking applications and encourages those who still receive paper invoices to switch to receiving invoices through bank channels.

More than one million users already use Siirto
The service operates within banks’ own applications, which are used over one billion times per year. Initially, the service includes Siirto’s owner banks OP and Nordea, whose customers represent over 70% of Finnish consumers. Before the end of the year, the goal is to onboard additional banks.

Siirto aims to reach 90% coverage of Finnish consumer customers by the end of 2026.

The renewed Siirto service will be launched before the summer. A more detailed schedule will be communicated closer to the launch.
