Siirto and Orbyt are launching a cooperation that enables e‑invoices to be delivered directly to consumers’ mobile banking apps. This makes invoicing easier for invoice issuers and paying invoices more convenient for consumers – directly within their own bank.
Orbyt is a specialist in invoice lifecycle management and processes millions of invoices annually for businesses and the public sector. Together with Siirto, Orbyt enables secure, smooth and effortless delivery of e‑invoices directly to consumers’ mobile banking apps. As Siirto expands its service before the summer to include the receipt of e‑invoices, invoice issuers gain an efficient way to accelerate digital invoicing in Finland.
For Orbyt’s customers, this means an even smoother and more reliable way to reach consumers through familiar and trusted bank channels – without any changes to existing invoicing processes or formats.
Make invoicing easier with Siirto
Siirto has been known in Finland since 2017 as a real-time, account-based payment method that operates within banks’ mobile applications. Now the service is expanding: in addition to person-to-person payments and online purchases, consumers will also be able to receive both recurring and one-off e‑invoices directly in their own banking channels.
The expansion does not introduce a new invoice format or a new delivery channel. Instead, it simplifies the delivery of standard Finvoice invoices by automatically providing the consumer’s e‑invoice address to the invoice issuer.
Thanks to the Orbyt–Siirto integration, Orbyt’s customers can adopt the functionality without any changes to their current invoicing systems or processes. This reduces the volume of paper invoices, streamlines invoicing operations and delivers cost savings.
Why is this an important step?
Electronic invoicing is growing rapidly across Europe, but delivering invoices directly to consumers remains challenging in many countries. Often, separate agreements, manual actions or alternative channels are required.
By combining Orbyt’s expertise in invoice lifecycle management with Siirto’s broad reach across bank channels, this challenge is addressed in Finland. Leveraging the existing banking infrastructure improves delivery reliability and reduces complexity for both invoice issuers and consumers.
“I am very much looking forward to Siirto’s new e‑invoice address lookup service, as I believe it will significantly increase the level of digitalisation in invoice delivery in Finland. In many Nordic countries, similar services already exist and the share of digital invoices has risen to over 90%. In Finland, the corresponding figure is currently around 78%, and private customers still receive paper invoices from various services far too often. However, I believe that Orbyt’s cooperation with Siirto will help increase Finland’s level of digitalisation, allowing more and more consumers to choose e‑invoices instead of paper invoices across different services.”
Outi Strengell‑Hytönen, Country Manager, Orbyt
“Our cooperation with Orbyt is an important step towards making e‑invoicing truly effortless for both consumers and invoice issuers. It accelerates the development of digital, reliable and sustainable invoicing in Finland.”

How Siirto works in practice
Siirto aggregates e‑invoice addresses into a single registry. When an e‑invoice address is requested, Siirto securely provides it to Orbyt. The invoices are then delivered as standard Finvoice invoices directly to consumers’ banks.
To ensure secure and accurate addressing, Siirto matches the verified customer data provided by the invoice issuer – such as phone number, address or personal identity code – with bank data. If the customer cannot be identified with sufficient certainty, the invoice is not delivered and an alternative delivery method can be used.
The transmission of the e‑invoice address is fully automated. The consumer receives the invoice in their online bank or mobile banking app and pays it as usual. No separate e‑invoice agreements are required – activating Siirto in the consumer’s own bank is sufficient.
Over one million Siirto users – coverage continues to grow
The service operates within banks’ own applications, which are used more than one billion times per year. Initially, the service includes Siirto’s owner banks OP and Nordea, whose customers represent over 70% of Finland’s population. Additional banks will join later.
Siirto’s goal is to reach 90% coverage of Finnish consumer customers by the end of 2026. The renewed Siirto service will be launched before the summer, with a more detailed schedule to be communicated closer to the launch.
