CGI’s invoicing solutions are being complemented by Siirto’s new e-invoice address lookup service. This makes invoice management easier and speeds up cash flow.
Invoices where they’re paid
Siirto is known for its real-time Siirto payments and online payments. The renewed Siirto, launched in summer 2026, has expanded its offering. In addition to payments, consumers can now receive e-invoices even more smoothly in their own banking channels.
“Siirto’s idea is simple: invoices arrive where payments already happen. With CGI on board, this experience now extends to a significant share of Finnish consumers.”
Mikko Ketola, CEO, Siirto Brand Oy
Siirto is not a new e-invoicing channel; rather, the service makes it easier to deliver familiar Finvoice invoices to consumers’ banking apps. With Siirto, both recurring and one-off e-invoices arrive directly in the consumer’s own banking app. This makes invoice management more effortless and brings significant savings for billers.
The renewed service responds to a clear consumer need. According to a report by the State Treasury of Finland (Valtiokonttori), 51% of Finns would like to receive all their invoices electronically, and 77% consider the current way of signing up for e-invoices too complicated.
“CGI delivers millions of invoices to Finnish consumers every year. We already offer multichannel, automated operator and message-routing services, and our cooperation with Siirto gives our customers a new opportunity to grow the share of electronic invoicing without major changes to their existing invoicing processes.”
Tomi Luhtala, Vice President, CGI Digital Operator Solutions
How Siirto works
Siirto gathers users’ e-invoice addresses in a single register. When an invoice recipient’s e-invoice address is requested, Siirto reliably forwards it to CGI. Invoices continue to be delivered via Finvoice straight to users’ banks — just even more easily now.
Siirto compares several pieces of customer information known to the biller, such as phone number, home address or personal identity code, with the information held by the bank. If Siirto cannot find sufficient information about the consumer customer, it does not forward the invoice; another delivery method is used instead.
Consumers receive their invoices in their online bank and pay them from there as usual. Consumers save time, since e-invoices no longer need to be ordered separately, as is currently the case. Billers do not need to apply for a separate permit to invoice a customer through Siirto — Siirto handles the verification and forwarding of the e-invoice address automatically.
Siirto already has more than one million users
The service operates within banks’ own apps, which are opened more than one billion times a year. Initially, Siirto’s owner banks OP and Nordea are on board, whose customers number around 3 million Finns.
Siirto is currently also in talks with other banks about expanding the network.
Siirto is a Finnish payment and invoicing service that operates within mobile banking apps. Siirto is available in the OP and Nordea banking apps, where it offers consumers a familiar, secure and consistent user experience. Siirto Brand Oy is responsible for developing and managing the service. The company is owned by OP and Nordea, and its mission is to build a secure, widely used account-based infrastructure for payments and invoicing in Finland.
